About the Center
Established in the summer of 2005, the Center for Community & Business Research is one of eleven programs operating under the aegis of the Institute for Economic Development at the University of Texas at San Antonio. We conduct primary research on community and business development. We work with secondary data to conduct economic impact analyses of businesses and industries, or to provide a snapshot of how San Antonio or south Texas compares with other cities or regions. We design research projects that include primary data collection in order to shed light on community, business, nonprofit, or individual issues. We are interested in the economics of small and large businesses, industries, community development, rural issues, and nonprofit organizations.
The Center for Community & Business Research operates on grants and contracts that fund specific research projects. We seek project funding and entertain research project ideas from government, businesses, associations, foundations, and individuals. Part of our expertise is in designing a research project that is tailored to your needs and budget. In addition to designing and conducting research projects, we excel in writing accessible reports and delivering research results to a wide audience.
