Center for Community and Business Research
Biography:

Thomas Tunstall, Ph.D., became director of the Center for Community and Business Research in November 2011, where he leads a staff of economists and researchers who provide economic impact analyses, assessments, and feasibility studies on a wide variety of topics. He comes to the center with many years of experience in economic development, strategic planning, IT management and research for corporate and governmental entities, including KPMG Consulting and USAID. Tunstall’s career includes work with small businesses across the U.S. as well as international economic business development experience in Azerbaijan, Kenya, Zambia, Guam and Afghanistan. He is also the author of Outsourcing and Management (2007). Tunstall holds a doctorate in economics and public policy and an M.B.A. from the University of Texas at Dallas.

SBDC Contracting Resource Center
Biography:

Terri Williams comes to the Contracting Resourcing Center with many years of experience in business and economic development. Formerly the director of economic development for Brooks Development Authority, Williams leveraged funding partnerships with national, state and local government to advance economic development opportunities at Brooks City-Base. In addition, Williams was the business development manager for the Port Authority of San Antonio for six years, where she managed and directed activities related to business and economic development.

Williams also worked 11 years with the City of San Antonio as manager of the Small Business division of the Economic Development Department. There she led the Small Minority and Women-owned Business Enterprise Program and the Procurement Technical Assistance Center.

Biography:

Veronica has been researcher with SBDCNet since 2005. She holds a BBA in Management with a Concentration in International Business.

Biography:

Wayne Looff joined the San Antonio Small Business Development Center in 2001.

As a Senior Business Advisor, Wayne provides solid advice for new and expanding businesses.  He assists clients with all aspects of their business, including preparing business plans and financial projections, with specialization in restaurants, retail and service industries and real estate ventures.

Wayne has over 20 years of experience owning and operating restaurants. Wayne is a real estate broker and has experience in real estate development.  He provides his counseling services and business start-up workshops for area organizations, such as Chambers of Commerce and Economic Development Corporations located in Seguin, New Braunfels, Canyon Lake, Bulverde, and Schertz. 

He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management from Texas State University.

Wayne supports clients located east of San Antonio in Comal and Guadalupe counties.

San Antonio Small Business Development Center
Biography:

Yanet Gomez joined the San Antonio Small Business Development Center in 2006.

In her position, Yanet is responsible for all aspects of SBDC’s training and development program, including curriculum development, course selection, organizational communication and event planning.  Her focus is to support entrepreneurs with seminars and workshops that provide the training and tools to help guide their business venture.

Yanet brings over 14 years of adult education experience, seven of those involving staff development in a corporate setting. She has worked in behavioral healthcare and adult education in a university environment.

She earned her BA and MA in Communications from The University of Texas Pan American.
